Hello Steemians,

Welcome to Week 4 of CineAtlas 60, our filmmaking map challenge built on:
Speem.watch (video) + SteemAtlas (map pin).

In Week 1, you introduced a place with a One Take Intro.
In Week 2, you told a story using exactly 3 shots.
In Week 3, you explored silent visual storytelling.

Now in Week 4, we focus on a creative cinema technique that can transform even the simplest detail into a story:

an object becomes the main character.

A chair, a cup, a bicycle, a book, a bag, a lantern, a toy, a key, a bench, an umbrella — ordinary objects can become cinematic subjects when filmed with intention.

Theme of the Week: Object as Character — “Give Life to a Thing”

The title of Week 4 is “Object as Character”.

Your mission is to create a 20–60 second micro-film in which an object becomes the central character of the story.

The object does not need to move by itself.
What matters is how you film it, frame it, reveal it, and build meaning around it.

Your video should make the viewer feel that this object has:

  • presence
  • importance
  • emotion
  • mystery
  • or symbolic meaning

You may include people in the video, but the object must remain the true focus.

Mandatory Platforms / Video Requirement (Curation Note)

Important Steemit curation requirement:

Since curation is done only on steemit.com, your video must be directly viewable on steemit.com to be counted for curation.

Therefore every entry must include:

  • Speem.watch link (primary upload)
  • A second link viewable on steemit.com (recommended: YouTube)
  • IPFS-only links will not be accepted for curation

What Your Post Must Include

Every valid entry for Week 4 must contain four key elements:
a SteemAtlas pin, an object-centered micro-film, a short description, and weekly engagement.

1. SteemAtlas Pin – The Place Where Your Object “Lives”

Open SteemAtlas and place a pin on your filming location (public / safe place).

In the pin description and your post, explain clearly:

  • City + country
  • What kind of place it is (street, park, beach, café area, market, station, monument, etc.)
  • Why this place fits the object and its story

Choose a location where the object feels meaningful, natural, or cinematic.

2. Micro-Film Video (20–60 seconds) – Object as Main Character

Create a 20–60 sec micro-film in which one object is the main character.

Week 4 rule:

The object must be the emotional or visual center of the film.

You may use:

  • close-ups
  • camera movement
  • framing
  • light and shadow
  • silence or ambient sound
  • music
  • human interaction with the object

Your film can be poetic, realistic, mysterious, funny, nostalgic, or symbolic.

The important point is this:
when someone watches your film, they should clearly feel that the object is not just a prop — it is the subject.

Your video must include:

  • ✅ Speem.watch link
  • ✅ YouTube (or any Steemit-embeddable player) link

3. Description – “Why this object?”

Write a short description explaining:

  • What object you chose
  • Why you selected it
  • Why this location fits the object
  • What story, feeling, or message you wanted to express through it
  • How you tried to make the object feel like a character

Add at least 4 photos from the area to improve presentation.

4. Engagement Twist – Shot Breakdown Comments

Each participant must comment on at least two Week 4 entries with a Shot Breakdown:

  1. Confirm the weekly technique: Object as Character
  2. Mention your favorite moment with a timestamp
  3. Give one constructive suggestion (framing, light, focus, visual storytelling, rhythm)

Simple “nice video” comments do not count.

Closing Words and Contact

Week 4 is about seeing cinema in simple things.

A forgotten object, a familiar object, a poetic object — everything can become a character when the camera gives it meaning.

Show us how you can turn an ordinary thing into the heart of a film.
