Inspiring Artwork Painted At The Seawall

Upon entering the City of Danao you are welcome by the murals on the wall, featuring messages like "NEVER GIVE UP" and "HOPE MAKES WORKS", were part of a community initiative to inspire hope and prevent vandalism after a significant flash flood caused by Typhoon Tino in November 2025. The flood severely affected 14 of the city's 42 barangays, causing significant damage from heavy debris and river overflow. The city government coordinated immediate relief assistance and the restoration of basic utilities such as power and water supply. Local artists and residents contributed to the murals to beautify the affected area and foster a sense of collective healing and hope.

Santo Tomas De Villanueva Parish Church

This is a Roman Catholic Church built before year 1755 and became a important landmark of the City.Ut has a distinct Baroque architectural style and a bell tower with a red dome. The church was made up of numerous materials including sugar cane and cut coral stones from the sea which was a common building material for churches constructed near the shoreline during that period.

Old Spanish Cannon

Believed to be of Spanish craftsmanship casted in 1800s. This old Spanish cannon was brought from Spain to Danao by the Spaniards and used during Philippine revolution in 1895 and during Spanish-American war in 1898. The old Spanish cannon, an heirloom of the Spanish occupation in Danao, is mounted on a concrete replica carriage and was prominently displayed at the grassy triangle fronting the first city hall of Danao probably since 1960. It remained there until it was relocated in 2006 at plaza Rizal.
