My name is now Evelina Hernandez. It is my maiden name in the USA. I am also now a dual citizen, Mexican by birthright. My Mexican name is Evelina Hernandez de Perez. I will no longer be able to change my name in the future to keep my identity aligned. I am grateful to be Mexican-American; this status in Spanish is considered the golden class.
