A Childhood Toy- Clay Art Contest #7

The list of my favourite childhood toys is plentiful; it was hard to narrow down so I just used the first three that my memory recalled.

The first, although two items, I did them as one because I used these two toys simultaneously. My pogo ball was fun to balance both feet on either side of the ball and jump in place but once I caught on to it I added jumping rope at the same time. This was a great way for me to expend my childhood energy but I also found it so much fun. So much so, that I entered into a school talent show and choreographed this activity to music. Pretty brave to do in front of my whole school when I was 9 years old I would say.

Next, I'd like you to meet Good Luck Bear. In case you aren't familiar, Good Luck Bear is one of the ten original members of the Care Bears. I used to not only watch the cartoon TV show but I had this stuffed plush toy to snuggle at the same time and I loved him.  I cannot recall what it was about him that made him my favourite but I suppose there is nothing wrong with having a little luck by your side.

The View Master...First glance into the world of virtual reality this toy was fascinating to me in my youth. You would insert these cardboard disks that had mini slide pictures and when you pulled down on the orange handle to the side, it would rotate through the images bringing it to life and telling a virtual story that only you could see. A one man show if you will.  Holding it toward the light helped view the images more clearly. This was a popular toy throughout the ages, it dates back more than 75 years. Definitely one of my favourites!

Thank you for taking a little nostalgic trip back in time with me. I look forward to seeing other entries of beloved childhood toys.

Awesome @purplemagic! Love the view master! Was one of my fav toys in the 60's.

I remember having a view master as well! As a child, that alone is enough to bring you into attention. My mother used to give it to me when I have tantrums lol. I believe I have seen episodes of Carebears as well but I am not entirely fond of it. It does bring a lot of memories though
