Coin Collection #3 "10 Deutsche Mark - Arthur Schopenhauer anniversary coin" 1988 Germany
The issue of the 10 DM commemorative coins began in 1972 for the Olympic Games in Munich with 6 motifs. Further issues were not made until 1987, starting with the motif 750 years Berlin. A total of 37 different commemorative coins were issued from 1987 to 2001 (43 with the Olympic issues). The silver content was initially 0.625, from the 1998 issues onwards 0.925 (sterling silver). From 1987 to 1996, each design was issued by only one mints. From 1997 onwards, all 5 mints in the Federal Republic of Germany (A = Berlin, D = Munich, F = Stuttgart, G = Karlsruhe, J = Hamburg) embossed in PP (= mirror finish) in equal parts. The standard version (st) was still only issued by one embossing plant. The series ends in 2001 with the motif 50 years Federal Constitutional Court. The issue of the 10 Euro coins from 2002 onwards continues the series thematically. This piece was minted in D = Munich.
