That golden thread of friendship

Friends, Today I was sitting and thinking about friendship. I was reading a great quote by John Evelyn, Friendship is the golden thread that binds the hearts of all the people in the world." The words stuck in my head. Honestly, this saying is like a form of many feelings accumulated in my mind. For some reason, I felt that I needed to write something about this topic of friendship in my own way.

We mix with so many people every day, and talk to so many people. But at the end of the day, how many people can we reveal all the burdens of our minds, all the secrets, and even the messy sides of ourselves to? Very few. And this is where a friend really belongs. A friend is a person in front of whom there is no need to wear a mask. All the failures of my life or all the strange worries of the middle of the night—all that can be told in a relaxed manner, is only a friend. He never judges, he just listens quietly. And in the midst of that listening, it seems as if half of the burden of the mind becomes lighter.

Sometimes I think, in this mechanical age, we are all alone like islands. We have put up an invisible wall around ourselves. Very few people can break that wall. But the one with whom the heart is connected, he crosses that wall and reaches the depths of the mind. To me, this is what friendship means—a kind of mental peace. When life seems too monotonous, when I am in great doubt about a decision, then just talking to a friend makes everything clear. He is like a mirror of my life, where I can see myself very clearly.

But yes, friendship does not always mean happy moments. There are prides, quarrels, and sometimes we do not even see each other face-to-face. But at the end of the day, when we feel the pull of that golden thread, all the complaints are washed away. In fact, friendship is a matter of practice. It has to be cared for, given time, and maintained with trust.

Finally, one thing seems to me, the world may be very difficult from the outside, but those who have at least one true friend in their lives, their lives are not so gloomy. Maybe because this golden thread binds us to each other, we can get through the difficult days with a smile. Those who have such friends in their lives are actually very lucky. This feeling has no price; it just has to be felt.
