Do not ignore little things; here is why.

There was a day that I learned something I will never forget. And that day taught me something real. On that day I picked up two mangos. One was big, fine, and attractive, the kind I proudly show off that I got a big shot. But the other one was small and somehow rough-looking and unattractive; there was nothing special about it at all. To be honest, I almost threw it away. I already judged. In my mind the fruit can never be ripe. But something in me said, “Just keep it.” So I did.

Later that day, I decided to eat my fruit, but I ate the small one first because I thought that if my mouth became sour after eating, I would quickly eat the big ripe one to bring back the normalcy of my taste; it was almost like I didn’t expect much from the fruit anyways. But the moment I opened it, I paused and looked at it surprisingly. That small mango was perfectly ripe. Soft, sweet, and juicy, and I was shocked.

But when I went for the big one I had admired earlier, guess what? It wasn’t even ripe yet. It looked good outside, but inside, it wasn’t ready. That moment hit me differently. It taught me a great lesson and made me realize how life works sometimes. We often chase the bigger things, opportunities, people, dreams, and appearances but we overlook the small things because they don’t look impressive at first glance. But the truth I've come to realize is that, those little things might be exactly what we need in our lives to grow and succeed.

That small mango reminded me that value does not make noise and it's not everything that glitter that is the right one. And not everything that looks small is useless. Sometimes, the small effort we put in daily activities is what builds our future. Sometimes, the quiet friends we have are the ones who truly have our back. Sometimes, the small opportunity we get is the one that opens bigger doors later in life. The small pocket change you give the needy can go a long way to increase your finances. The little investment and savings can prevent you from bankruptcy, and sometimes the little time you use to read books and make yourself useful can shape your entire destiny for good and lots more.

If I had followed my first thought, I would have thrown away something good without even knowing it. That’s how we lose blessings in life by judging too fast. Since that day, I try not to underestimate anything little again, whether people, chances, opportunities, or even myself, because I've now realized that growth doesn’t always come big and loud. Sometimes, it comes small and quiet, but ready when you least expect it. So my brothers and sisters never underestimate the power of little things.

Thank you for your valuable time.
