I Do Not Want Anyone’s Kingdom

Sometimes I sit quietly and wonder why people become so dependent on others.
Why do we hand over our happiness, our peace, even our worth, into someone else’s hands?
There was a time when I thought this was what love meant… feeling incomplete without someone, needing them in every moment, believing you are weak without their presence. But with time, life slowly taught me a different truth.
The most valuable thing in this world is independence.
That feeling that you can make your own decisions.
That your peace does not depend on someone’s mood, attention, or presence.
I have seen people sacrifice their freedom just to keep others comfortable. At first, it looks like love or care, but little by little a person starts losing their own identity. Then one day they can no longer even hear the voice of their own heart.
Now I prefer a simple life.
A life where there is respect, peace, and self-worth.
A life where I do not have to constantly prove that I matter.
Because the truth is, once a person understands their own value, they stop breaking over people’s behavior.
They love, but not by destroying themselves.
They stay loyal to relationships, but not at the cost of their self-respect.
I am not saying that we should never need anyone. We are human after all — we have hearts, emotions, and feelings. But there is a difference between companionship and emotional slavery.
Enjoying someone’s presence is one thing, but feeling worthless without them is another.
Now I have learned that you must build your own world.
Your own peace, your own happiness, your own identity.
Because in the end, the person who stays with you the longest is yourself.
