Colorchallenge Tuesday Orange 'Chameleonic Turtle Pelican Bloodhound'

As far as I can tell it's a chameleonic turtle pelican with bloodhound ears.
I have not named this adorable beast, nor researched the evolutionary conditions which has led to it bizarre appearance - so I am open to suggestions.
It lives in an untitled surreal landscape painting circa 2010ish which began as a biro sketch on plywood.
The sketch was bungled into photoshop for compositing and then painted with oil on canvas.
