How A Quantum Computer and A Desk Fan somewhere in the Nevada Desert Could stop a Hurricane and maybe even end global warming

In Recent years you may have noticed something that used to be true but more and more every day isn’t…
The saying “You can’t trust the weatherman” seemed appropriate to say for the businessmen lugging his umbrella around on a Blue skied mid-summers day as he bumped into his friend on the Subway in the 70’s and yes some places have sporadic weather but thanks mostly to the enormous investments made by Government’s, Military’s, Media Corporations and even Private Companies and Universities there has been enormous growth in the past few years in so many different parts of it what it takes to predict weather accurately we can’t actually say that anymore.

The things we can thank for this are endless. Just some of the things which have increased the accurate prediction of weather in recent years are factors like reduced cost and higher accuracy of electronics, Better and Cheaper Satellite Imaging Technology and their launches and even high-speed internet has made an enormous impact. But the one we really interested in is what has really caused this massive leap in Weather Predication is actually and it’s no surprise that that is in fact Super Computing.

Recently The Power Of Our Computers has dramatically improved, This happened mostly because we found a way to strap them together and work together. Before we could do that the best we could do was about 2 Peta-Flops and that is don’t kid yourself serious computing power but now about 10 years later and the fact we can build them in stacks has led to Super Computer Projects that are said to be capable of 90 Peta-Flops like the Chinese Sunway Taihulight which is actually said to max out at just over 125 Peta-Flops.

While all this may sound like we going somewhere at incredible speed its actually not that simple because although yes our computers are getting faster they also reaching limitations where we just don’t get to use that speed as power.
It’s a pretty simple problem to understand if you imagine you had a mouse and a snail, they started at the same point and the end at the same point.
You can think of a normal Desktop computer as a Snail and a Super Computer as the mouse.
The mouse 100 out of 100 times finishes first but the fact is the distance travelled and the end point are the same, It’s the same with a Super Computer and a Normal computer where a Super Computer doesn’t give you a “better” prediction it just gets the same answer a slower computer would get faster.

But this limitation reaches its Ends with the first developments of true Quantum Computing emerging and at the same time defining the point of breaking through where we begin to see the limitations of what we can do now and what we could do with technologies like General Artificial Intelligence where we not just scaling in power as we progress but we actually scaling in how “intelligent” that answer is and at that point we don’t have computers that can just get to a prediction but ones that get to an understanding of the full “Karmic Lifecycle” of independent factors as well as how they all connected in a system.
But with the rise of these technologies does it really stop with predicting the weather or could we do something we couldn’t dream of doing before?
You know how the saying goes about the butterfly that’s flaps its wings on one side of planet and a hurricane starts on another?
Imagine a canyon that’s 200 meters deep and 400 meters wide in the middle of the Nevada desert that during the hot baking sun during the day creates a large amount of humidity inside the canyon and as the sun sets the warmer air in the canyon drifts out and starts moving across the desert disturbing other pockets of air as it gathers steam flowing straight beneath the subtropical jet stream causing it to kink creating a downward flow of cold air over a large portion of the continental United States and a pocket of warm air underneath it over the pacific, This event triggers a tropical storm of the coast of Florida and warm winds coming from the east give it the energy to develop in to a full on hurricane.
Now imagine you had a Computer that could basically predict the hurricane in the future with such a strong prediction it can then reason backwards and find that Canyon and put a Desk-Fan inside it so it slowly releases the humidity during the day and it doesn’t collect in the ground gathering energy and moisture.
While this is just a concept and a futuristic dream I think it paints a bigger picture and perhaps we shouldn’t be looking at technology like a toy anymore when we see things like this on the horizon but instead a tool that can do great things, a tool that when used correctly we as the human race can realize our true grand purpose on this planet through it.

It’s a powerful step in the progress of man, As society we have only seen ourselves as benign to life on planet earth living for what has been seemingly selfish desires inside selfish societies all the while all the other living beings on this planet just look on seemingly confused but strangely ok with us considering just what we have done to the life around us…
It kind of makes you think, Maybe they know we have a purpose and maybe it looks a little evil for a while but what if this is just the beginning of a much bigger Journey and with Mankind finding its purpose on this planet, to see it and understand how grand it is or at least could be.

Astronomers have been looking to the heavens for years, searching and analyzing what must be millions and millions of stars and planets and places all in the search for something like what we have in abundance on this planet/// Life.

Earth is a special place where this very real miracle takes place and although we can’t say we alone and we the only ones blessed with this gift we can say that no matter where it is found it is rare and delicate and needs to be protected for life is good for what life is we should start seeing that our purpose on this planet could be much bigger than just for us as the human race but instead beings of great power that can ensure that this planet harbours this miracle for millions of years to come.

Who knows what that could mean?
In the next one hundred years the human race could be building Earth Umbrellas in Heliocentric Orbit and control Global Warming a solution which could ensure a stable temperature for the next 100 000 years or even an Asteroid defence system that would ensure Planet earth will never face the extinction level event the dinosaurs did ever again.
Perhaps the future of the human race isn’t to End in World War 3 but instead a future where we find a bigger purpose we all part of.
While dreaming about the future of technology and the crazy things we can do with it as the human race makes these kinds of actually happen it has a bigger purpose in that we need to look deeply into not only what technology is today but what it’s going to become in the future that we have a significantly higher chance of seeing thanks to what technology allows us to do and identify if our current relationship with it is the best one considering just how powerful it is.
