Finding laughter in grief

Hi beautiful stemians yoday i have a beautiful story to share with you read and enjoy.

In the whole of Bella's life, Bella has never been serious. She jokes about almost everything, even when it's serious. It's just her kind of person. If I'm to say her joking when someone is in a serious condition or having a problem doesn't mean she doesn't care, it just means she lacks the way to show the emotions.

Early that morning, Ella walked into the class looking so sad. No one really paid serious attention, thinking it was one of her quiet times, not until she was crying and at the same time being cuddled by Victor, her boyfriend. I approached her and said, "Ella, ypu know we are here to listen, when ever you are ready to talk . Forget the jokes and everything, we can't afford to lose you. Please tell us what's wrong with you."

She kept mute for a moment and spoke up, stammering, "I... lost my father yesterday, and..."

Before she could finish, I heard Bella screaming and at the same time lifting her hands up, saying, "Father, we thank you, we bless your name, Jesus, we give you all the praise because you have not forgotten us..."

We all stared at her in confusion. To some point, we all thought it was one of her jokes, only for her to say, "Father Lord, even though they have refused to thank and acknowledge you for adding unto yourself a saint and about to give to us a free food in due time, forgive them for they know not what they are doing."

At this point, we were half smiling and half angry, our attention was divided, we almost did not know if we were to laugh or to comfort Ella. We all stared in confusion.

At last, Victor voiced out, "I don't know what you are or who you think you are, it's... like wait, how dare you, how dare you make light of her fathers passing." He said while walking upto her.

Only for Bella to start shaking as if she was afraid of Victor, she rolled her eyes and acted as if she was crying, saying, "Look, Victor, I understand, from my heart, I do. It's just a pity that as an in-law to the deceased family, you will be asked to contribute, and that's a lot for you. But please don't kill me, I'm just appreciating God for his doing. In fact, God bless Victor with money, understanding, and patience, and make him understand this is a joke..."

The whole class burst out laughing, including Ella. She cracked a smile between her tears. Victor shook his head, smiling, "Bella, you are nothing but a clown," he said while chuckling. At that point, everyone went back to Ella and comforted her. Soon, the pain was almost forgotten.
