Great idea! I would like to give this one a shot.
However, if the way to determine the winner would be the number of upvotes and (meaningful) comments received, wouldn't this introduce a bias towards the entries that are posted earlier rather than closer to the deadline?
Yes and no. I'm not going straight count on it, I'm averaging it over the number of days the post is active.
