Scooby Doo Storytime: The Case of the Imposters
"Hello out there to all of you boys and girls, I'm so happy you're here. Welcome to Gramma Gamble's Storytime. I'm sure you're going to love today's story entitled Scooby Doo and the Case of the Imposters. Oh, it sounds just absolutely thilling, doesn' it? Please, come sit and have a cookie while we all enjoy the story."
It was a lovely day in Crystal Cove, and best buds Shaggy and Scooby Doo were out for a walk.
"Like, it's a lovely day in Crystal Cove, isn't it Scoob?" Shaggy asked of his furred four legged friend.
"Rah, Raggy!" Scooby agreed happily. The two walked down to the beach and started to stroll along the boardwalk. They had their new metal detector with them and were going to the beach to see what they could find. A storm had blown through yesterday, and the pair were hoping that it may have brought some interesting goodies with it.
As they made their way onto the beach Scooby caught sight of something that looked familiar. He looked a little closer. "Raggy! Raggy! Rook!" He said excitedly, and pointed into the not to far distance on the beach. Over there, he saw another Shaggy and Scooby-Doo coming their way!
"Zoinks!" Shaggy exclaimed. "Scoob! It's, like, us!"
The other Shaggy and Scooby saw them as well and, before too long, the two pairs had met up.
"Zoinks!" both Shaggy's exclaimed in unison.
"Row!" both Scooby's barked as a pair.
"Like, man, this is wild!" Shaggy cried out. "It's, like, another one of me! It's another Shaggy!" Shaggy was completely beside himself with disbelief and amusement.
The second Shaggy didn't seem quite as amused as the first. In fact, he looked confused. He looked from the first Shaggy, to the first Scooby, to his Scooby, and then back to the first Shaggy.
The second Scooby looked to the first Scooby, to his Shaggy, to the first Shaggy, and then his eyes grew narrow and dark. "Raggy," he said in a low, deep, ominous voice. "Rut the ruck?"
"Yeah, you said it Scoob," the second Shaggy answered. "Rut the ruck. Who are you two?"
"I'm Scooby-Doo!" the first Scooby said proudly as he puffed his chest out. There aren't many talking dogs, after all.
"Yeah, he's Scooby-Doo, and I'm Shaggy, too!" the first Shaggy replied. "We came out to test out our cool new metal detector on the find beach of Crystal Cove after the storm last night! Want to come with us? When we're done we'll all go for a super large, mega cheesy Papa's Pizza with extra pickles, tomatos, and mustard!"
"Mmmm-mmm!" the first Scooby said as he rubbed his tummy, already hungry just thinking about.
"Yeah, that does sound really good, doesn't it Scoob?" the first Shaggy asked with a grin. "Maybe we could put some pineapple and barbeque sauce on it too."
"Yeah yeah yeah!" the first Scoob began to bounce in excitement. "Rets go eat now, Raggy. Rets eat now!"
"Oh look!" the second Shaggy said suddenly with a sneer. "They've got a metal detector. Well, we've got a knife!" And with that he quickly brandished a long knife and pointed it menacingly.
"Like, he's got a big knife!" the first Shaggy wailed in fright.
"Ruh-roh! Run Raggy, run!" the first Scooby said as he turned and began to bolt away.
The second Scooby was having none of that and immediately began to give chase. "Ret's ruck'em up Raggy!"
"You said it, Scoob! Let's get those posers!"
It was quite a sight, Scooby chasing Scooby, Shaggy chasing Shaggy, one Shaggy wailing, the other yelling. All up and down the beach they went, carrying on.
Ooooh, it's a scary story, isn't it? What do you think will happen? I think this is a good time for a quick break. Have a cookie, and when you're ready, we'll finish the story.
All ready? Alright! Let's see what happens next.
This continued for some time, with Shaggy and his best pal Scooby Doo chasing Shaggy and his best pal Scooby Doo.
"Run Scooby run!" Shaggy yelled for his best friend, not quite sure where his best buddy had gotten too.
So frightened with Shaggy that he didn't even stop to take a sample of a vegeterian hotdog loaded with onions, red beets, broccoli, and maple syrup from a hot dog cart.
Suddenly, Shaggy heard a voice calling him. "Raggy! Raggy! Over here!" Hoping that the voice he heard was his best buddy, and not the fake Shaggy's best buddy, Shaggy turned in the direction of the voice and run fast. What he saw was, coming in the other direction, the Mystery Machine, driven by his own best friend in the whole wide world!
"Jump Raggy!" Scooby called out through the window. Without even thinking, Shaggy leapt action-hero-style to the side. The Mystery Machine just missed the first Shaggy, but collided with the second Shaggy head on, plowing him down!
Shaggy rolled and sat on the ground, just in time to see the Scooby driven Mystery Machine finish running the angry Shaggy over. Slowly he got up to his feet, gathered his metal detector, and walked over. "Like, Scoob, I don't really want to go metal detecting anymore at all," he told his bestest friend. "Why don't we just go to the ice cream stand and get a super-duper sized Rocky Road and Butterscotch sundae covered with tangy barbeque sauce and Scooby snacks?"
"Rah Raggy! Rice cream!"
After tossing the metal detector into the back of the van, Shaggy got into the drivers seat and started to drive away with Shaggy.
"I wonder where those two lookalikes came from, anyway," Shaggy mused aloud. "But mostly, what happened to the other Scooby Doo, Scooby Doo? The one who was chasing you?"
Scooby looked a little sly, yet also a little determined. "I ran that rofo over too," he giggled with a "tee hee hee hee hee." After enjoying a good laugh Scooby stuck his head out the window and howled in victory, "Scooby Doobie Doooooo!"
