SLC-S31/W3-“Creative Interpretation| The Theme -“Silence Speaks”
Interpret “Silence Speaks” creatively in an art, poem, photography.
Ruth married the husband out of pity; according to her, the husband has no money or house of his own, while Ruth is a tech lady who receives good salaries from her tech work every day. She built their home and then started having children as husband and wife. Ruth saw the potential that the husband had, and love started growing.
As God blessed Ruth with a bigger contract, he introduced the husband into the tech business; their life automatically changed. The husband now drives his dream car travels out of the country.
The bond in their marriage became so inseparable because Ruth was admiring a hardworking companion, and finally her husband became one.
Something happened along the line; Ruth's husband started admiring other younger women secretly to the extent that he got one pregnant and even married her secretly.
One day the new wife innocently posted their wedding pictures and baby online, and Ruth discovered what her husband did. She silently moved away from his husband without any word or signs of violence.
Later she filed for a divorce, collected her house, and dismissed the husband from the tech business. While she was away from home, the husband called to explain, but to no avail. That was how they separated. Until now, no one can tell what Ruth's next plan of action is; hence, she is not talking or explaining her marriage issues with anyone.
What message is being communicated through silence in your piece?
In this story the silence of Ruth made the husband and his new wife uncomfortable; they are always looking out for revenge from Ruth, considering the heartbreak she may be passing through.
Ruth's silence in this story communicates her anger and disappointment towards the husband's character.
Furthermore, Ruth's silence proves that she did not approve of the choice of her husband marrying another woman behind her back without informing her.
Who is silent in your interpretation and why?
Ruth is silent in my interpretation; her silence is because of what the husband did that she didn't expect, considering how much effort she put into making the husband a wealthy man and father.
She is silent in this story because she was still in the shadow and feeling of herself, trying to understand if it's her mind that's playing fast on her.
I can also conclude that her silence is because she knows that without her the husband's riches will not last; hence, there is nothing sustainable he can do to fetch him the money he is enjoying when they were both together.
What happens if that silence is finally broken?
Hmmm, when Ruth finally breaks this silence of letting people know how she raised the husband and how the husband betrayed her, she will surely attract many supporters who will help her fight.
When she finally speaks, even the new wife will be shocked to know the kind of man she married.
In fact, it will be like a bomb blast. When she finally breaks her silence, there will be no reason to doubt her because she didn't react when the husband was blackmailing her with cheap lies.People will be eager to hear from her when she finally speaks.
