My First Crease: Why I’m Still Screaming at the Screen 26 Years Later

in #cricket26 days ago

I was seven when my uncle hoisted me onto a rickety plastic chair in front of a 14-inch TV and said, “Watch this left-hander.”
The left-hander was Sanath Jayasuriya, and the ball disappeared over extra-cover like it had been fired from a bazooka.
That was 1999. I’ve never left the chair since.

Fast-forward to 2025: I finally created a Steemit account (joined in 2019, but life, exams, jobs, excuses).
This space will be my new chair — short, loud, meme-heavy takes on every T20, ODI and Test that keeps me awake past 3 a.m.

Expect:

⚫ 200-word match micro-rants

⚫ Stats that even Cricinfo hides

⚫ Memes your IPL-loving friend will steal

⚫ Polls where you vote with comments, not clicks

Today’s confession: I still can’t watch the last over of a close chase without pacing like a cat.
Your turn — what’s the single delivery you’ll never forget? Drop the bowler, the batter and the year; best story gets my 100 % up-vote tomorrow.

Let’s fill this empty stadium with noise.
