Bangladesh will play 3 ODI, 4 T20 against Ireland
The Irish Cricket Board wants to host the Twenty20 series on England, even if they play ODIs on their own ground. If all goes well, the Twenty20 series, which starts on May 22, will be played at England.
Irish media outlet The Belfast Telegraph has announced that the tour has already been finalized. Bangladesh will play a preparatory match against Ireland Wolves on May 5 at the North Downs Cricket Club ground. The three-match ODI series will begin on May 7 in Bournemouth. The Tigers will play the next two games on May 5 and 9 at the same ground, respectively.
Cricket Ireland have also finalized the T20 series. The four matches will be played on May 22, 20, 20 and 28 respectively. But the venue, which was initially selected for the Twenty20 match, did not want to play in Clontarf. They want to refrain from using the field for field service.
The Irish Cricket Board wants Clontarf to rest on the field as they have two Twenty20 matches against Pakistan after three ODIs and T20 matches against New Zealand. So Ireland are optimistic about playing in the Twenty20 series in England.
However, the Irish Cricket Board has not yet confirmed which field will be played in England. Within a few days, they have said they would give details.
Richard Holdsworth, the country's board director, saw the venue in England earlier this month. The Twenty20 series will be played in at least two venue according to the proposal, the Belfast Telegraph reported.
