ICOs welcome in Isle of Man - New ICO Framework
Isle of Man may be friendly territory for ICO launchers
In an interview today, Brian Donegan, head of operations for fintech and digital development at the Isle of Man's Department of Economic Development, told CoinDesk that the British Crown dependency has created a regulatory framework it believes will allow for token sales that are compliant with anti-money laundering and know-your-customer regulations.
Alternatively, some have offered alternatives to the ICO in general. ICO as a concept is something I always thought was a bit flawed. If people donate without any expectation of profit then in my opinion it would be a lot easier than this ICO concept. When people invest then the receiver has a fiduciary duty which isn't necessarily the same as with donations. Finally non-profit entities might even be more tax efficient. That said I'm no lawyer, and only the lawyers truly understand this stuff.
right the islands will be crowded with ICO launchers.
