I actually rarely tether, unless I feel BTC is going to go for a wild dump. Other then that I always stay in BTC.

I admire that decision to stay in BTC ... it probably made a huge difference for you during some of the uptrends since long term we all expect the overall mkt cap to grow anyways.
It makes life easier, wether is spikes up hard or down, Alts are the ones who suffer and you can win either way.
