Knowledge is a powerful thing, so I hope that now that you are more educated about cryptocurrency, you will continue to do your own research and eventually invest in the technology and it's future, if you haven't done so already!

Here are some final nuggets of knowledge that I will leave with you on why Bitcoin, or a cryptocurrency similar to Bitcoin, is better than the US dollar.

BITCOIN IS DURABLE.

It exists as a ledger entry backed up on thousands and thousands of computers around the world. If for some reason, the internet went down or there was no electricity worldwide, although you couldn't use Bitcoin, you also wont be able to use credit and debit cards, paypal, banks, or any form of modern money. Bitcoin is NOT disadvantaged over money in this way at all. (Let's be honest, when was the last time you carried loads of cash in your wallet to use in case of a global meltdown? Most of us rely on our credit/debit cards and online banking services.)

BITCOIN IS FUNGIBLE.

Each Bitcoin is worth the same as any other. It is recognizable. Every Bitcoin wallet can be tested whether it is legitimate or not. Bitcoin can't be counterfeited. Unlike gold, it cannot be filled with tungsten and passed off as pure gold.

BITCOIN IS PORTABLE.

It can be sent anywhere on Earth at low cost. It can be moved across borders. It can't be blocked or apprehended. It has no weight. It is the only form of money that can be moved at distance without trusting a 3rd party. It is the only form of money that can be moved without needing the permissions or trust of an overseer.

BITCOIN CAN BE PROGRAMMED FOR VARIOUS KINDS OF ECONOMIC ACTIVITY.

This is an advantage to fiat. Without a middle man, escrow agent, or human arbitration of any kind, this can be accomplished. This programming ability without having to trust anyone is impossible with fiat.

Why will the cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystem continue to grow?

Because the profit motive alone will lead capital away from those assets that can be debased and censored, to those assets that cannot be. To future generations, it will appear as inevitable as the collapse of the old making way for the new.
