What did get YOU into crypto and what are your favourite books or articles about it?

Hey!
Today I want to know what made you start with crypto! First time I ever heard about it, was back in school during 2013/14, where a friend even offered me to buy BTC, but I refused because I was certain, that it was solely used for criminal intentions in the darknet! Stupid me right?
I am glad that I started working with cryptos later though.
Also, what good books and articles can you recommend, especially from a programmer's/computer science student's standpoint?
