10 Myths About EOS... You May Think Are True

in #crypto7 years ago

A deep dive into EOS. Really interesting concepts here.

We talk about centralization vs scaling, block producer collusion, buying votes, bribing, economics, DPOS, governence theory, lost keys, and more.

This stuff takes a long time to research, but if you put in the time you're ahead of most people on Reddit.

Just press play and do the dishes or something.
That's how I usually roll.

Enjoy the vid.

Much Love my Steem, Crypto, EOS, and ETH friends.
Thanks for being a part of this crazy blockchain space with me. Bottom Rocker. Me and Ned.jpg

You have received a @GrumpyCat flag because you or someone else send money to buy votes on your post from an irresponsible non-GrumpyCompliant service.

Some bots like @sneaky-ninja (by @michaeldavid) are acting irresponsibly by selling votes on posts very close to final payout. These votes are sneaky, not promotion and are most of the time placed on low value content.

Sending money to these bots is also financially supporting for-profit only posters (spammers).

To know what voting bot to use, refer to https://steembottracker.com/ and use those that have 3.5 day or less in the "Max Age" column.

Important warning, since @sneaky-ninja has made no effort to improve in more than 4 months, it's vote will still be countered even should they improve his Max Age setting.

Learn more, learn even more...

Cool, agreed. No more @sneaky-ninja.
Keep up the good work @grumpycat

"Oh, I'm so sorry I spoke outta turn Massa. You done good by beating me extra hard with that switch, Massa. You so smart Massa."

Did any of you see where Dan Larimer said that they were working on a way to allow bitcoin to run on the eos blockchain? I saw a youtube video that mentioned it recently. Imagine what that would do for the holders of eos. For Bitcoin you would have massive increase in speed, and scalability immediately, which is a win for BTC. And for eos imagine the bandwidth that would require to run the BCT blockchain, and how many tokens would need to be leased in order to fully supply bitcoin with the bandwidth needed. I think that if it ever happens it could be monumental for the crypto community as a whole. It would add value to BTC, and would add a lot of value and more credibility to EOS than any dApp could give!

That would actually be insane! Bitcoin and EOS are me top 2 holdings.

Yes Dan said they were working on a way to run Bitcoin on EOS in the telegram chat. I don't think any info was given on how this would work technically but I think it would act like a second layer / side chain. Kinda like lightning network. But I have no clue, just going off the top of my head

yeah that's true , hope that this project of coöperation will succeed . B ut I will be happy if I see the actual thing in real life cause you never know in crypto world . Look at the plans lite coin had to get together with lite pay en create a service with a creditcard but cause of the media was cracking down on crypto that moment they have put aside there plan's for a while . But it would be nice yeah .... :) jippie

EOS is a great project. It has given plenty of time to dapp builders to test the test net, get used to the much easier programming language, et. This isn't a project with no proof of concept that is a lot of speculation. Nor is it something that will finally go live Q2 2019. This is live, and mainnet will launch in like a MONTH!!
I am weighing my portfolio heavier and heavier towards eos. I wish I would have earlier. I really like some other projects, one being trx, but I think over the next few weeks I will be taking profits from trx and buying more eos. I am fairly certain we will see $35-50 eos buy june 1, 2018.

I expect big things when main net goes live next month. In addition, the supply of tokens will be capped then too.

They say don’t believe the hype because they fear how disruptive EOS will be. How can they complain of about the problems it may have l, when they haven’t addressed the problems they do have.

But is there really anything to show for in terms of real life application or is it still all based on promises.
Thats something the speculators are interested in but i as a creator cant hang my hat on any of that.
What ive seen so far is there is an attempt to fix the downfalls of Steem with EOS but atm im just waiting to see how far that actually goes.

They may not have their blockchain up and running at the moment but as you stated BTS and steem are proof of concepts that can be expanded upon. Ask yourself how many coins in the top 100 have the Mainnets coming out within the next Month? yet no one questions their viability.

Oh but they should. One of the reasons that ICOs and crypto has such low reputation with the general public is because the investors dont question anything enough.
But yeah, he does have steem and BTS as his stepping stones and one day we might be moving to a EOS based platform but atm im just going by what i see.
Im no investor so really, who cares. haha

Bass guitar you say. ;)

I 100% agreed, guess it’s fine line we walk.

And yea Bass guitar all day long.

quick question @crypto2crypto . I recently cashed out $149 worth of sbd with the intent to buy eos when it slipped back under $6 (ooops) But is EOS worth it if I just have $150 to throw at EOS or should I just pick up more steem? Just wondering your thoughts. thanks

Please sir upvote me

No lol

Great point - I think EOS will go far but needs to mature first - none the less great great potential

I think its all about perspective bro. Am with u on this one. Greetings from @ayahlistic

If only as much attention as was being spent on EOS would come down to Steem, I'd love to see Steem come out of Beta one of these days :)

Last week I met some guys from a company that will build dApps on top of EOS. They basically told me differences between EOS ecosystem and how it is built and Casper (ETH). It is very interesting how those two giants want to deal with similar problems. I'm rooting for EOS but I have to say that if Casper succeeds, it will be a breakthrough. However, it is very unlikely that a blockchain that can govern itself will be created soon. It is a bit utopian yet beautiful idea. Therefore, I think EOS>ETH (if they deliver ofc).

Yea that's where I stand too. Casper could be amazing and change everything. It's just hard to believe they will get it all right in the near future. They will need to get it right because it won't be easy to change and their will be tons of attack surfaces.

I'm really excited to be a part of the next 6 months

So am I man, so am I ;) However, I think there is one idea that would make Casper work. It is still in its infancy and is called AI. I do believe is the one of two next steps that humanity will take in its evolutionary process.

that would be an epic integration. These are amazing times

I will remember your opinion when I am watching Terminator or Matrix ;))

i`m buying eos got a lot of potential

EOS is definitely overpriced now, $14 billion market cap of useless token is really a nonsense.
