RE: Bitcoin loosing its dominance?
It seems to me that there two ideologies or concepts fighting it out in the cryptocoin world right now. One is the centralized blockchain technology like Ripple and the other is the fully decentralized even anonymous transactions like Monero. Bitcoin and most other cryptos are actually just in between as their transactions are in public ledger and still can be traced.
Ripple's value skyrocketed due to its alliances with major banks and the fear that other cryptos can be used for criminal transactions.
Each has its own advantages and my best bet is to keep both. Don't take sides and just see how everything will evolve later on.
Indeed this is true. But bitcoin is costing me alot of money when it comes to transaction fees and time!
Agree, Bitcoin is gearing towards big transactions so you won't mind the fees (proportionally small) for fast transactions... but Bitcoin is still the easiest to exchange to local currency compared to other cryptos. Maybe later on as altcoins can be directly exchanged to local currencies or for direct purchases, then we will have a different scenario. I also like Stellar as they are into money transfer projects...
