Bitcoin's dominance reaches new heights, while altcoins continue to lag behind

The crypto market is changing. Bitcoin is getting stronger while altcoins struggle to grow. Investors now put their money into big assets that have a real use.

Main points:

Bitcoin is taking a bigger slice of the market. The old cycle where money moved from Bitcoin to altcoins is slowing down. Many people are selling their altcoins on exchanges. Investors want projects used for DeFi or real world assets. Growth now depends on basic value and actual use.

Bitcoin is leading a more picky market. For years, a set pattern existed. Bitcoin climbed first, then Ether rose, and then small coins followed. That is not happening now. Capital is staying with Bitcoin.

Ki Young Ju from Cryptoquant says this shift has stalled. He posted on X that the rotation between Bitcoin and altcoins has mostly gone away. Trading volumes for BTC pairs have dropped since 2021. He believes the time when altcoins rose just because Bitcoin rose might be over.

Data shows a lot of selling pressure on smaller coins. Altcoin sales on exchanges are at multi year highs. At the same time, Bitcoin is getting more money from Wall Street. ETFs and big companies are buying Bitcoin, which makes it the main focus.

Altcoins are in a tough spot. In the past, a bull market lifted almost every token. That is not the case today. The Altcoin Season index is below 75 percent, meaning a true altcoin season is not happening. Bitcoin still holds most of the market share.

Ki Young Ju thinks most altcoins will fail. He says 99.9 percent could disappear. Only a few will survive. These include projects that make real money, help with stablecoins, or handle tokenized assets.

This is a big change. In the past, tokens grew without having a real product. Now, buyers look at revenue and usage. Tokens must prove their worth on their own. They no longer just follow Bitcoin.

Several things caused this change. Institutional money from ETFs goes straight to the top assets. These investors do not gamble on small coins. Also, there are too many tokens now. With so many options, money is spread too thin.

This means only the best projects survive. Bitcoin stays on top while others fight to show they are useful. Growth now comes from adoption and real profit. This could change how the market works forever. If the trend stays, Bitcoin will keep its lead. Altcoins will need a real purpose to win back investors.
