Coinbase's Criteria for Token Listing: A TRON (TRX) and Ripple(XRP) Listing Rumor

in #cryptocurrency6 years ago (edited)

There are plenty of rumors and false information floating around on Twitter as well as videos posted on YouTube. The nonsense being pumped into social media is poisonous to all parties involved. I will not post the usernames or channel names of the individuals accountable for these posts, for it will only provide them financial gain and will completely defeat the purpose of this blog. I have publicly commented on their videos in hopes to catch the attention of their viewers and make them aware of the lies. I have created this blog to clear the air and present to you with facts to back up my statements. The core reference of this article will be the *GDAX Digital Asset Framework* (https://www.gdax.com/static/digital-asset-framework-2017-11.pdf) which provides a structural layout for the evaluation process of a potential digital asset listing.

Ripple(XRP)(https://ripple.com/xrp/) is a Centralized Digital Asset, meaning they are dependent on an organization structure. They offer banks a fast, no borders, payment system. It has all of the attributes to be successful however, centralization is not easily adopted in the cryptocurrency world. In Section 1.1 of the Digital Asset Framework  *Decentralization* clearly states "the network public, decentralized, and enables trustless consensus." Therefore, this section alone disqualifies Ripple as being a contender for listing.

TRON(TRX)(https://tron.network/en.html) is a decentralized blockchain based 'protocol' designed to provide worldwide entertainment content. In Section 5.2 of the Digital Asset Framework, the *Change in Market Capitalization* states "the market capitalization has grown after the network has activated, demonstrating increased demand for the asset after the project's launch." TRON is an ERC20 token, not a coin. This section alone also eliminates TRON from any potential listing on Coinbase/GDAX. For further reading and research, please refer to the links below.

I also encourage new investors to not feed into what everyone online says and I am no exception. The purpose of this blog is to inform The People of Cryptocurrency and provide you with Facts. All citations are listed and are at your disposal. Thank you for reading and happy trading.
