Register Your EOS Address on EXODUS Wallet - Never Been So EASY !!!
We are just one day away from the EOS mainnet launch and most of users still haven't registered their addresses. It can be a little tricky for less technical users. Although, it's really simple to do so but one fears, 'What if I mess everything'.
You don't have to worry much. You can simply transfer your wallet to any of the reputed exchanges such as Bitfinex, Binance or DEX and they will take care of the swap. But some users would like to have access to their private keys and may be would like to receive some of the potential airdrops that might happen with the launch.
Many users have created some wonderful tutorials that you can use and register your tokens. You can find a brief list of tutorials in the comments section to this post:
But I would like to introduce you to even simpler method than any of those. Did you know you can register your EOS on EXODUS WALLET too? Well, it's pretty simple to do so, let's get onto this.
How to Register EOS address in Exodus?
As said before, in order to claim EOS Blockchain tokens you must register your ERC20 tokens with EOS. With the latest EXODUS wallet version you will now be able to register your tokens. Here's how you do it.
Step 1:
Make sure that your EOS address is not registered already. How you can tell? Pretty simple, your EXODUS wallet should tell you if it's registered or not before. Take a careful look into the following image;
As you can see the top right corner will indicate if its registered or not. Now that you know you are not registered, let's move onto our next step.
Step 2:
Please transfer at least 0.005 ETH to your Exodus Ethereum wallet, as some ETH will be needed to complete registration later on.
Now click on the "HELP" button in the left-bottom corner, scroll down to the bottom until you see, "How do I register my EOS Tokens?", now click on it and you should see the following screenshot.
Now click on the Big Green Button and it will open a dialogue box asking you to confirm you want to register.
Step 3:
Now that you have confirmed, Exodus will perform the registration, handling everything for you in the background, and then your EOS address will be registered. In the final dialogue box, Exodus will also show you the transaction ID of your registration process, which you can verify by clicking 'View TX'.
Step 4:
There's no step 4. You are registered, have fun!
Your EOS tokens are registered to the EOS Mainnet address of your Exodus wallet. You can verify this by checking your EOS receiving address one last time. Now that you are registered, please do not move your coins from EXODUS before the mainnet launch. Once the mainnet is launched, you are free to do so.
Mainnet is launched now what?
Now that mainnet is launched, you might not receive your coins immediately as it will take some time for Exodus to update their infrastructure. But you will still be able to move your coins here and there. All you need is your private keys. You can export your private keys from the 'Developer' tool box. Take a look into the following screenshot.
...And Airdrops?... Will I receive them?
While it is understood that Exodus will not support all the airdrops as it requires infrastructure and there's a specific method for a coin to be listed on Exodus. However, it doesn't mean that you will not be able to redeem your potential airdrop coins.
The private keys are everything you need to know
The airdrops will be linked to your EOS mainnet public key. You can claim them any time. You will have to transition to some other EOS mainnet wallet that will come out down the road that will support all the EOS based tokens.
The airdrop tokens will be associated with your address so as long as you have the keys, you are the master of your fortune.
All airdrops associated with that address are on the blockchain. You can open any wallet with your keys, and the tokens on the chain are displayed within it.

that the existence of registration workarounds did not mean they would be honored by the Block-One network.
Does the Exodus wallet team have the Block One permission for these registrations? Be aware that not using the Block-One registration process will leave blanks in your smart contract. The blanks are your identification for proving you're not from China or the USA.
I would love to hear I'm wrong on this...
Good Luck!
It's the same method, just a one stop solution.
Exodus wallet verifies your location via IP address and also collects your personal information?? Where is the official statement from Block One supporting this registration method?
Block one has nothing to do with Exodus. Anyone can write a code that would let users register their coins in a simpler way. It doesn't necessarily requires Block one permission or approval.
I am not sure about Exodus verifying IP etc. Even if they do, what are hey gonna do with it anyway!? They are free to take my IP xD
If I can trust them with my money, my IP matter the least.
You obviously don't understand investment laws in China and the USA. I'm actually rather sure anyone who hasn't legitimately registered through Block-One will not have their tokens honored on the official network.
Good luck.
I read your all step.
I go step by step, I hope I can, thanks for the contribution!
Let me know how it goes and I will be happy to help!
It is a good pedagogical material, thanks for your effort @ghayas
Thanks for paying a visit.
Great guide. It’s not that difficult to register them yourself TBH and people should have considered this some time ago, knowing it was coming up.
Things will be a lot more straight forward after launch of mainnet! It will be interesting to see how many tokens are lost on the transfer (people donit weong/ don’t bother to register etc).
Ideally, people should have registered by now but the things is, EOS has been the longest ICO ever. So, chances are that some people might have bought their tokens and then got busy somewhere else or threw it away into their safe storage's like HODLER's does sometimes. So, it's important to create enough hype to get noticed.
You are right. I wonder how many coins will be lost due to lack of registration.
