Yes it's a great idea to cut out the middle man. and using your own platform is the best idea I heard that @Dan is planning to build a Steem Competitors on EOS. Hopefully this competition will increase the quality content and give more business to crypto. In my 2 cent opinion may be Google and facebook is accepting their defeat by not giving add to their website.
