NEM Faucet to get XEM: Waste of Time or Not?!
I invested small amounts in multiple cryptocurrencies which I believe in or I think others might believe in and therefore the demand will hopefully increase as the word about these 'lucrative' investments spreads. I won't go into to much detail on my first post on Steemit but I need to get this of my chest before answering todays main question: Is the NEM faucet worth your time or not?! In the days to come I will be looking at more faucets.
Before buying an altcoin please check out the official website and the team behind the coin. Some of these websites haven't been updated for months or even years and the whole 'project' seems to be behind schedule. As an investor in off-plan real estate I know projects run behind schedule all the time but when you stop getting updates/explanations from the developer it is time to worry.
So before investing in NEM and buying XEM I took a look at www.nem.io and saw potential which resulted in me buying a small amount of XEM. I also noticed that the official website has a direct link to Faucet as can be seen below.
Now the faucet comes in Japanese and English and all you need is a NEM address and your good to go.
There are 5 possible outcomes as you can see below and all is pretty self-explanatory.
Every hour you get the chance to win a new price. Now the main catch is that withdrawing can ONLY be done if you have more than 5 XEM and they will charge you 5 XEM as a fee. So as you can see i played 77 times and technically I have only earned 0.552 XEM + whatever the MOSAIC's are worth which wont be more than 0.05.
Conclusion: Since NEM is currently trading at around $0.21 I just made over $0.11 which is nothing.
I hope you get lucky and win that 100 XEM with odds of 1:5000 or 50 XEM with odds of 1:400 but I will continue until I win another 5 XEM before I quit so I don't feel like I totally wasted my time. There is a big chance this article will make me more $!
I came to the same conclusion. Surely you can afford to buy a few XEM and do something else with your time. Heck, you could mow someone's lawn or watch someone's dogs or something, and make more money for the time invested!
