The Status ICO that launched earlier today raised over $270 million in less than 3 hours. Status.im is an open source mobile DApp browser and messenger built for Ethereum. Some investors are criticizing the amount raised claiming there is no reason a messaging app needs so much startup capital. Furthermore, many interested contributors experienced difficulties sending transactions from MyEtherWallet, leaving a sour taste in their mouth.
