Owo Masquerade Festival ... A glimpse

This is a short tape capturing the Owo Masquerade festival in Mbieri, IMO state of Nigeria.
This is an Igbo festival celebrated yearly and the Masquerade captured is called Ogburummadukwe (He kills and agrees) it is believed by younger folks to be a Spiritual being sent from Chi to Inform people of the consequence of their actions.

•It is rumored that this Masquerade once butchered a pregnant woman in the 20th Century who was sleeping with other people
• It once attacked a military convoy and totally decimated them leaving the Government to sue for peace
• it once killed a Traditional ruler who was abusing his power
RUMOURS

The native people so believe in their masquerade that anytime it is being celebrated people of all walks and works of life come down to the village to celebrate, even those based in Far away countries.
