Survivor Arena Will Survive!

Gosh, what have you done with the Survivor Arena?! Wow, this is amazing!

Admittedly, I was a bit overwhelmed by all the new features, because I had no idea what to expect when I just wanted to play a quick round at the start of the new season. Perplexed! It took a few (rather pitiful) attempts before I roughly understood what was even going on. Still, what a fantastic surprise!

Of course, I’ll need a few more hours to explore all the new possibilities - especially the weapons. But I’m actually excited to do that! The game feels faster now and, thanks to the many variations with different space worlds, much more interesting.

The surprise already started with the option to choose a character trying to survive in zombie space. With all the coins I collected in previous games, I went ahead and bought the most expensive character, Valid Walker. Don’t worry - 300 coins is something anyone can afford after just two or three matches. And honestly, it didn’t help me much anyway: I’m still far from my old high scores... ;-) Additionally, it’s a one-time investment: once purchased, the new warriors are yours. You can select them for every new game, as long as you’re logged in.

But let’s start from the beginning… what’s new?

• You can choose a character (other than the familiar little blue soldier, they cost coins). Each character has strengths in one of the four new worlds. Or you can pick an all-rounder.
• Four new worlds! You reach them through portals, which open after you defeat a “big red” enemy.
• In each world, you can earn different weapons that you can then take with you into other worlds (including the original one).
• If your weapon slots are full before entering another world, you can discard a weapon to make space. But be careful! If you remove an upgraded weapon, it’s gone along with all its upgrades! I swapped the non-upgraded pistol for fireballs - wow, that was stressful!
• Defeating a boss comes with a really nice surprise... ;-)

I’ve already entered all the worlds. Awesome! But at some point, I found myself just hoping to finally find a portal back to the home world. Little Chriddi wanted to go home... :-D
Of course, I haven’t discovered all the weapons yet. But I’ll keep exploring and maybe share more of my experiences.
