Surviving the Void in Survivor Arena

in Cur818 hours ago

Good evening to everyone on Steemit. I've been a newcomer trying out some niches and reading all I needed to know about Steemit. I've been around for some weeks now but haven't done much because I was still looking for the right niche. I actually like games and I didn't know that Steemit had a gaming community.

So after finding Cur8, I first followed their Steemit account and I went to the website. There's also the community so I've joined it too.

There are good games on the site and I'm happy to play because I prefer the gaming niche.

I played a game on Cur8 Games today and took a few screenshots of my game play and achievement.

The game is called Survivor Arena. As the name suggests, for anyone that hasn't played before, it's a survival game where many enemies come at you from all sides. Using the touch to move, it's very easy.

You have to move and shoot all the weird animals that come from every direction to be able to stay alive.

I actually recorded my session to show how it looks but perhaps later I'll start posting the videos too.

Starting the Run

The first thing you'll start off with is the character selection. I chose the Cyber Soldier. It was pre chosen by the game and the others I had to get using coins I didn't have.

Looking at the character I think it's a well balanced guy with good HP and speed. I haven't tried other characters do I can't make the comparison now.

You are going to start the game Play in a place called the Void Abyss. It was a bit easy at first, I was getting only a few small green enemies crawl toward me. The gun fires on its own so you don't have to worry about Target. The thing you need to focus on is running and dodging the enemies as the gun does the shooting. Always be checking your life bar, that's what I kept doing until I met the Boss enemy.

Getting Stronger

When I kill the enemies, they drop some stuff that I keep picking up and that's how I see myself level up. I also noticed every time I level up, the game gives me three choices for upgrades. At Level 2, I took the Rocket Launcher. It really helped the character a lot because it does big damage to groups of enemies.

Later on I got a Force Field. This was the blue circle around me that keeps enemies away. I think when the enemies enter that circle they're damaged.

The Horde Gets Crazy

I saw that after about three minutes, the game got much harder for me. The screen said EXPLODER WAVE or ZOMBIE HORDE. I think at that level the enemies increase in both speed and number. At that point I had to start moving in circles so that I would avoid getting trapped by a lot of enemies. I think I also got a death ray which was like a blue laser that shoots once and then wait a while and shoots again. Even with all that I had the shield and the big guns shooting my health bar was going down faster than I could notice because I had my attention on trying to escape as many enemies as possible.

The Final Boss and Game Over

I still managed to escape a lot of the enemies until the screen showed another warning, "BOSS INCOMING". That was when I saw a giant robot which was the void overlord. This enemy was the biggest at seen in the gameplay. I made stupid move because I thought the shield could instantly destroy that big robot so I went straight ahead and collided with it and saw my life bar drain all the way to zero. I tried my best to escape the giant robot but I realized I was stuck between him and a lot of other enemy zombies. I survived the game for over 3 minutes. I have no idea whether that is actually good for a beginner but I assume people can survive this thing much longer. If I have to try playing it again I know I will have my attention on the big robot and try to defeat it and I know I will do better..
According to the stats I killed 229 enemies and I had a final score of 14,689. I think I'll call this a short run but at least I've gained some gaming experience in this was my first blockchain game ever.

Thank you Cur8 team for developing this game and thank you Steemit community for being wonderful.
