The day i learned the importance of cyber security
a few months ago, my friend received a message on social media from someone claiming to be a representative of a famous online store. the message said that he had won a special prize and only needed to click a link and enter his account details to claim it.
excited by the news, he almost clicked the link immediately. however, something felt unusual. the website address looked slightly different from the official website, and the message contained several spelling mistakes.
before taking any action, he searched online and discovered that it was a phishing scam designed to steal usernames, passwords, and financial information.
that day taught us an important lesson: not every message on the internet can be trusted.
since then, we have followed a few simple cyber security rules:
- never click suspicious links.
- use strong and unique passwords.
- enable two-factor authentication whenever possible.
- keep devices and software updated.
- avoid sharing personal information with unknown people online.
the internet offers endless opportunities for learning and business, but staying safe online is just as important as staying safe in the real world.
cyber security is not only for companies and experts. it is a responsibility for everyone who uses the internet every day.
stay alert, stay secure, and protect your digital life.
