#cycling4steemit: CALLING ALL bike packers, tour cyclists - and all other kind of adventurers on a bike! Join our NEW community!
Instead of making cycling4steemit only about my own cycling travels, I am instead gonna start using it for the adventure cycling community!
So one post already made a decent sample size of people who had some interest one way or another in cycling. So I can only imagine with some regular promoting of our new community, we can start gather even more people! From just the post yesterday I managed to gather a small list of people who either wish to start writing about cycling or already do:

I mean lets be real here, considering I am not really that big on Steemit this is quite a good response for a start. Already 10 people from one "search" is just fantastic. I really do believe with enough persistence we could create a place where people could regularly go in and read, vote and discuss each others content on #cycling4steemit.(at least that would be my ideal world). The only thing I truly miss is a place for adventures cyclists to come together, so I guess instead of waiting it is time to be a bit proactive!
So what do I turn cycling4steemit into now?
Before I wanted to use it as a brand for my big tour I was gonna bike this April from Denmark to South Africa. But now I am looking at it differently. #cycling4steemit should be a place where everybody with a cycling bird inside them can come with discussions, stories and deep thoughts related to cycling adventures. I want to see all kind of topics: What bikes are you riding, where are you going? Did you do a recent day trip? Nothing is in my world too big or too small to be posting about. As long as it is not spam content of course.
To start making #cycling4steemit a bit more attractive, I will dedicate a large portion of my Steem Power for those who uses the tag!
Something has to be attractive for people to start using it and No I am not a Whale but I am a smaller dolphin and with currently 5200 Steem power I can at least give it a small push in the right direction! Hopefully with other people joining in and checking out #cycling4steemit we could eventually make it even more attractive! For a start I will give full up votes to those who starts to use the tag and I will check on regularly. But when(hopefully) the usage of the tag will grow so will I have to diversify my Steem power. But truth to the matter is if we see that kind of usage of the tag, we will naturally start supporting each other!Steemit is all about empowering guys!
It's not about coming to take, but about empowering each other
Something Steemit really needs is the communities, a way for people with same passion to gather much easier. While the implementation of communities will make things better, it could still be a long wait for that to happen. So I don't see anything wrong with starting gather people now so when the day comes we might have already something going for us.
But for now it might require a bit more from us than it usually would. It would be a great help if those interested could start using the tag and maybe even check in on it from time to time to support other early members. There's always something thrilling about being the first members and see the progress!

I have to be honest, just like when I did my first bike tour through Europe and had no experience. I don't have any experience with what could help this tag and community grow. Do you have any idea could help it grow even more maybe you possess some kind of skill that could be of use? Please if anything comes to your mind!
If you wanna support this project please throw a resteem for more exposure, that would be awesome. Right now it is about catching as many people with a bike as possible to make people aware!

Really nice intiative! Its good to make a Community with people with the same interests. I am not going to write anything about cycling because I dont like to cycle myself but I really love to follow your adventures so I will for sure follow your trip to South-Africa!

@holm, Wow you've best ideas for providing cycling task in steemit platform. Its not a easy task. Across more states need to face difficult situations. Its being bad weather, flooding, climbing mountain etc...... But Cycling experience much important.
I bet #cycling4steemitwill be success in future and more users try to make posts and promote more about cycling. I appreciate for you mentioned using your valuable vote power. Don't worry, more users will check your profile and will do more tasks future.

cool effort! i am not that into biking but to do it from denmark to south africa is amazing! i would like to see how that turns out. and when you get even more people with similar things to join it will be a great community :D maybe know i start considering to do some of my travels by bike :)

Your journey will bring you awareness, it’s all about waiting and creating hood content . Try to start different programs to help others in the community which is one way to get awareness

This is a great initiative. I will use the tag for future cycling posts. I'm into mountain biking, so I think it would be a different perspective than yours, but hope would help to evolve this community.

Great idea...I love it! I have found a few other cyclists on Steemit in the short time that I have been here, but this seems like a great way to build and grow the community. I look forward to participating, and meeting other people on Steemit who are as bike obsessed as I am.
I have done some bike touring in the past (mainly in the 90's), but these days my daily commute accounts for the vast majority of my riding (still adventures on the bike...just much shorter ones). I do like to get out on longer weekend rides when I can. There are some great road/gravel/trail loops near my house, and look forward to sharing some of those rides here. I'm overdue for some bike camping too, so maybe this group will inspire me to to load up the family bikes for a weekend trip.
I am waiting eagerly to see them on #cycling4steemit ! I hope one day we will gather enough to make it a active place for people to come and check up on it! But first things first is getting it started. Just like you I love to meet other cycling "freaks" out there who can share all kind of stories and discussions!

Thanks for uniting the cyclists here on steemit, tanks to @thankyoubicycle for resteeming our rides, I get to see other peoples rides in other countries..
This is a really good idea to gather all cyclists because we share the same passion, normal people can't really relate to the joy of riding bikes, all they see is a cool picture in our posts but they don't get the feeling..
