Fanduel NFL Week 3: WRs to Target Review
Ownership % is from linestarapp.com for the "$150K Thu NFL Rush ($25K to 1st, Thu-Mon)"
PO = Projected Ownership

Only the highest PO players are listed.
Chalk
Mike Evans - $8600, 17.91% PO/6.7% AO - 10.2 pts
- Evans had a tough day with top CB Xavier Rhodes covering him but still managed a team high 12 targets for 7 catches and 67 yds. With fantasy being a TD dependent game, Evans was a bad chalk play but wasn't horrible. His ownership was surprisingly 10+ points lower then predicted.
Dez Bryant - $7800, 3.69% PO2.7% AO - 8.2 pts
- Bryant was predictably blanketed by the Cardinal's best defensive player in CB Patrick Peterson and failed to generate any separation thus mustering only 2 targets on the night. Fortunately for his fantasy owners, he turned his only catch into a highlight TD for its pure willpower to get into the end zone with some impressive YAC (and helpful push from his OL).
Pivot
DeAndre Hopkins - $7500, 9.03% PO/3.3% AO - 11.1 pts
- Bill Belichick's defense's are known for shutting down the #1 receiver and with the leagues highest targeted WR coming to town you would assume they would've prepared for him. They very well did since Hopkins received only 8 targets which is mediocre compared to what he typically averages. Hopkins managed to haul in all of them except one for catches but didn't record a TD. Hopkins has now had at least 10 pts in all 3 of his games this season proving he has a strong floor as a receiver.
Keenan Allen - $7200, 8.31% PO/10.6% AO - 8.6 pts
- Allen got his targets but only caught half of them this week. The game was low scoring and Allen wasn't able to be on the receiving end of one of them.
Fade
Larry Fitzgerald - $6500, 14.88% PO/6.6% AO - 27.4 pts
- Well I got to eat my own words on this one, didn't I? With a busted up secondary, Fitzgerald proved why he's a future HOFer and shredded the Cowboys for 13 catches and 149 yds plus 1 TD. There was massive pressure the whole game on QB Carson Palmer, but when he got it within a catch-able distance of Fitz he made magic with it.
Doug Baldwin - $7400, 11.01% PO/2.6% AO - 21.5 pts
- I think my fade players are reading my articles because Russell Wilson threw 4 TDs and guess who caught one? Angry Doug turned 15 targets into 10 catches for 105 yds and a TD. Games like this proved why the Wilson/Baldwin stack has been one of the strongest in football for the past few years. Get ready everyone, they're gonna be on a lot of peoples radars now.
GPP
Golden Tate - $7400, 2.43% PO/6.7% AO - 15.3 pts
- Oh what could've been. Tate had a game-winning TD overturned to end the game in Detroit and if it would've upheld he would've been one of fantasy's top WRs for the week. Despite the circumstances, he accumulated his high volume of targets with 11 and notched his first score of the year.
Davanta Adams - $6800, 3.66% PO/13.6% AO - 7.5 pts
- WR Jordy Nelson managed to overcome his quad injury and played in this game while WR Randall Cobb remained out. Adams couldn't do much with the opportunity and turned 6 targets into only 3 catches. With Nelson on the field, everyone on the Packer's offense loses value due to him being Aaron Rodger's favorite target.
Contrarian
Odell Beckham JR - $8800, 4.89% PO/1.7% AO - 24.4 pts
- This game would've given fans a lot of insight if OBJ was still being hindered by his lingering injury and we learned a lot. The Eagles held OBJ in check all the way until the 4th quarter. He scored twice, with his 2nd TD being a ridiculous catch that only OBJ can make. Only 1% of users took a chance on him and if you did you wouldn't have regretted it.
Tyreek Hill - $7300, 15.69% PO/10.4% AO - 17.5 pts
- Hill hit pay dirt and turned one of his catches into another TD. He finished with 5 catches for 77 yds and 1 TD. If KC were to get another solid #2 WR in their offense, Hill would be an even scarier WR.
Sleeper
Jarvis Landry - $6800, 3.12% PO/6.2% AO - 7.8 pts
- Just like the rest of the Miami offense, Landry couldn't get anything going and had a rough statistical day. The silver lining is he was targeted 11 times which is standard per what he's used to. Counterpart Davante Parker snagged Jay Cutler's only TD pass on the day.
Desean Jackson - $6400, 5.88% PO/2% AO - 16.4 pts
- Jackson did as predicted and reeled in a TD while leading TB in receiving yards. As Mike Evans took Xavier Rhodes in coverage, it opened a hole on the opposite side for Jackson which he took complete advantage of.
Bargain (< $6000)
Rashard Higgins - $5100, 1.89% PO/8% AO -
- My personal biggest disappointment of the day, Higgins had a moderately AO for a guy who was an unknown the week before. While his QB Deshone Kizer was playing catch up all day, one would've expected someone like Higgins to have some success. Instead he had 2 catches for 10 yds.
Devin Funchess - $4800 - 5.3% AO - 7.8 pts
- Funchess drew the volume with 10 targets, but only got 4 of them in his possession. Carolina's offense has been weak so far and showed how weak it really was even against a vulnerable Saint's defense. A lot of this can be blamed on QB Cam Newton's regression this year ever since his injury.
Geronimo Allison - $4600 - 15.2 pts
- For what Davanta Adams failed to capitalize on, Allison was there to make the most of. Allison lead all Green Bay receivers with 122 yds on 6 catches. Most of his damage was done on a 72 yd reception, but in fantasy it doesn't matter as long as he did it.
