Main Dishes Recipes #5: Savory pie with broccoli, bacon and cheese

I like trying to cook savory pie with new ingredients every time, to experiment new combinations and flavours. This time I prepared a savory pie with broccoli for the first time and the result was delicious, here's the recipe!

Ingredients (for the brisee dough):

  • 250g wheat flour
  • 100g water
  • 50ml olive oil
  • 1 pinch of salt

Ingredients (for the filling):

  • 1 small leek (or onion)
  • 1 medium broccoli (already boiled for 10 minutes)
  • 100g diced bacon
  • 100g melting cheese dices
  • 1 egg
  • salt and pepper

Directions

  1. First of all prepare the dough, pouring all the ingredients in a bowl and mixing them until obtaining a homogeneous compound. Then roll it to obtain a round disc and put it inside an oven pan covered with parchment paper.
  2. Then slice the leek and fry in a pan with some oil, then add the boiled broccoli and the cubed bacon and let it cook for a couple of minutes
  3. Let the filling cool down, then add the egg, cheese dices, salt and pepper and mix it. Finally, pour the mixture inside the savory pie base
  4. Cook in pre-heated oven at 180°C for about 20-25 minutes. Then add some sottilette cheese on the top if you like, to make it more cheesy!
