Arizona Fall Festival Dance Competition

This competition was our best performance ever. We were contested once in our age group and then we were uncontested for first place the rest of the time. Danielle and I have improved so much over the years and it has been thanks to Marie our instructor that we have been improving the way we have recently and for the last few years now.

So what was different about this time from any other time? We had a game plan worked out ahead of time. We got a look at the dance floor before our heats to work out where our alignments should be and then we made sure we were the first couple out on the dance floor so we could get to where we wanted to start on the floor. Obviously we had our routines for the different dances memorized we just needed to execute. And we sure tore it up out there; even having to manage traffic. We remembered most of our technique and what few times we messed up we kept dancing like nothing happened. That is probably one of the most if not the most important thing aside from having fun and sure was fun.

We danced American smooth waltz, dango, fox trot and Viennese waltz. We felt so great after this competition. Here are some videos of us. Enjoy! :)
