When I was a child, about 25-27 years ago I saw many of them. In Persian we call it "comb head" because of the comb like feathers on its head, other than Hodhod that you mentioned on your post.
I gotta confess that I killed 2 of them with my air rifle. Although it's been quite a long time and I not only don't hunt anymore but also I'm against it, still fill sorry.
