The Great Challenge - Week 19
I failed to update y'all about The Great Challenge with Dean last week.
Well, I succeeded. I also succeeded this week. Or...last week. Whatever. Regardless, it's 19 weeks down, and 19 stories written.
Although I will say this last one probably sucks. I went through the whole week not wanted to do a damn thing about writing. I actively avoided it, until Sunday afternoon. Then the power of the challenge and the streak kicked in, and I couldn't not write something, at least.
For all I know, that could mean the story's awesome. Honestly dunno. Doesn't matter though, because the story's written and I've moved on to Week 20. Got the next story started, and I know where it's going. So that's good.
I also got some more good writing stuff done this week. We'll talk about that in another post.
Here's the tally of challenge stories so far.
- Red Orchid - Romance - 3,800 words
- Debts And Obligations - Sword and Sorcery - 14,200 words
- Naughty And Nice - Modern Fantasy - 4,800 words
- Popper's - Mystery - 4,100 words
- The Case Of The Missing Rocker - SciFi/Mystery - 7,200 words
- Fences And Neighbors - Post-Apocalyptic - 4,800 words
- Give A Dog A Bone - Doggy Mystery - 3,200 words
- Untitled - Romance - 5,300 words
- Lost On Cordant Station - Science Fiction - 8,560 words
- Kicking The Anthill - Urban Fantasy/Adventure - 3,863 words
- VIP Treatment - Modern Fantasy - 6,012 words
- A Man Of Faith - Religious/Supernatural Thriller Maybe? - 9,013 words
- Abe's Liquors - Romantic Suspense - 2,951 words
- Cave Diving For Dummies - Sea Story/Suspense - 3,491 words
- Work Release - Science Fiction - 4,910 words
- Miss Melody And The Elf Spa - Fantasy - 4,175 words
- Joyride To The Moon - YA Science Fiction - 5,444 words
- Moonstruck - Fantasy/Horror - 4,683 words
- Untitled - Science Fiction - 2,119 words
That brings it to 102,649 words total for this challenge, and 140,985 words for the year over the span of 73.62 hours (1,915.12 words/hr on average).
Onward to the next story!
