Asteroid 2012 TC4 whisked past earth by about 27,300 miles - A bit above. The distance of Earth's orbiting satellites. Scientists are speculating that the next visit in 2079 could see it impacting earth, but with no extinction-like consequences like the type that is said to have killed the Dinosaurs.
Asteroid 2017 TC4 doesn't have a memorable name, but it might leave quite an impression years from now.
