A new restaurant named Nagerkovil Arya Bhavan has opened in Mettupalayam in January 2026. Located on the Main Road in Ooty, near the Black Thunder theme park, it offers traditional South Indian vegetarian dishes and other varieties. This restaurant has recently opened in Mettupalayam, and it might be a branch of the popular Arya Bhavan chain in Coimbatore.
Two weeks ago, I had to go to Ooty, so when she went there, we visited this restaurant and had breakfast. As soon as I saw the restaurant, I was very impressed because its parking area alone was about three acres in size. Furthermore, the interior and exterior were beautifully decorated. This restaurant, designed with the theme of the very famous Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, is beautifully decorated in a way that delights those who see it.

This restaurant, Nagerkovil Arya Bhavan, offers a wide variety of South Indian vegetarian dishes, including traditional Indian and Chinese cuisine, and also has a sweet shop.
The menu featured a wide variety of popular South Indian dosa types, such as plain dosa, ghee dosa, onion dosa, family dosa, paper dosa, masala dosa, and paneer dosa. Similarly, breakfast items like uthappam, idli, chapati, parotta, urad dal vada, and lentil vada were available, as were full meals, mini meals, biryani, and fried rice. Chinese dishes such as vegetable fried rice and noodles were also included on the menu.

At this restaurant, everyone who comes to dine is first given a hot drink free of charge. It is a sweet beverage made with green tea and spices such as ginger, pepper, and long pepper, with sugar added. This drink is useful to cold and cold related decesices.
There is also a sweet shop here, where many South Indian and North Indian sweets are available for sale. These include, in particular, Laddu, Jalebi, Mysore Pak, Palkova, Pal Peda, Raju Katla, Badusha, donuts, and pastries. Similarly, savory snacks such as mixture, boondi, thattai, murukku, adai murukku, pakora, and diamond cuts are also available. You can eat them there if you wish, or they can be packed for takeaway. We bought a parcel of savory snacks and sweets for our home.

This entire restaurant is designed with the theme of the Isha Yoga Temple, a very famous landmark in Coimbatore. Therefore, throughout the restaurant, there were photographs and statues related to Isha Yoga, showcasing the pride of Coimbatore. At the entrance, a large, lifelike, yet slightly scaled-down statue of Adiyogi from Isha Yoga is placed. Inside, there are also photographs of Isha Yoga and a Bhairavi statue at the entrance, allowing customers to offer their prayers. Furthermore, counters have been set up on both sides of the restaurant's exterior and are being maintained beautifully.
