For me, building a relationship with god can be complicated sometimes because, I tend to expect the same standards that I apply in my relationships with other people. For example, when I am at fault, I expect god not to immediately forgive me or not at all since most people do that- depending on the severity of the fault. Another hindrance for me is my "standard" that if I did a terrible thing, I will be unlovable. Well, all those things I apply in my relationship with god.
