World Cup 2019 hero Ben Stokes has been nominated for New zealander of the year. As per the news the official announcement is yet to come but Ben Stokes is the early contender among the public nomination .Along with him New Zealand captain Kane Williamson ,player of the World Cup is aloso been nominated as New Zealander of the year. "He's been the embodiment of the qualities we cherish as New Zealanders - courage, fairness, humility," Bennett said.

Ben Stokes made 465 runs in world cup and Was also given as man of the match in finals . While in the finals it was him who was in the crease while diving to complete the secound run adventurly deflected the ball towards the boundary line and was declared as 6 runs which helped New zealand to tie the match.

So World Cup's first Super over was set up. Ben Stokes came into the crease , he smashed crucial boundries against Trent boult which helped england push 15 runs while New zealand was able to score 15 runs but the title was eventually
given to England on boundary count.
