It has been posed by philosophers like René Descartes that this reality we all live in is just a very detailed computer simulation, indistinguishable from base reality.

But here's where it gets weird: how can you really tell what is base reality if you have always been in a simulation?. There's no beginning or no end to it, since you have always been in it. There is no before the simulation and no after. You can't remember what you were or where you were before, because there is no before. You have always been inside this simulated world, therefore for you this is reality.

What happens when you make this realization in your mind is that you start to ponder: who or what is running this simulation?. One could say it's being ran by oneself, or, that the emergence of consciousness is what powers this simulation.

I personally believe the simulation is ran by ultra-simulation Artificial Intelligence. They are part of the simulation, but they are outside it. Taking care that the users can't see or perceive the possible glitches in said simulations.

Do you believe reality is a simulation?

PS: it feels good to be back on @DLive

My video is at DLive

Pretty heavy tune =)

Love the visuals though, what do you use to go about creating something like that?

hey @skaarl thanks a lot for the support by upvoting and reblogging.

Yes as stated on the video's description, the music is written & produced by @greencross, while the visuals are VJ loops from one of the most fantastic video artists ever: Beeple. The VJ loops are free to use under a Creative Commons license.

Beeple always uploads the video along with the Cinema 4D files so people can learn how to make the same and even remix them to create their own versions.

Pretty generous way of doing things in my opinion.

Cheers

Ahh, thanks for the info, something I need to look into and start the learning curve. Always wanted to make some visual accompaniment for my own tracks, I thought you had done a great job with that video though...so thought I would ask how you did it, looking forward to seeing some more too =)

I did choose them and edited the video though hahahaha

If I had a computer powerful enough to run cinema 4d I'd be already making my own for sure. For sure in the future :)

Well I know what you meant, it's like loops and samples...except visual =)

@skaarl exactly, but when you have the source file he used for creating the videos, then it's more like a DAW project where you can actually tweak the whole track and make a new one out of it 😎

The Fat one did FINALLY come ;)

looks are deceiving my dear @elsiekjay...
