Here Is Why You Should Never Give Your Dog Chocolate (not even at easter)

in #dogs6 years ago (edited)

This is what happens when your dog gets hold of the easter bunny chocolate and decides to eat it. Thankfully this boxer survived thanks to the quick thinking of the owner getting him to the vet, and the staff treating him quickly. He still made quite a mess though.

What you should do if you think your dog (or cat) has eaten chocolate.

Phone your vet immediately, and take his advice, which is usually inducing vomiting if you can't bring him in immediately. To induce vomiting, it's generally recommended to give some hydrogen peroxide and although the vet should tell you what dose over the phone, the general rule is 1 teaspoon for every 10 pounds of body weight.
