We found a treasure
One last summer, a man and his uncle decided to refurbish an old apartment they recently bought. The place seemed to be stuck somewhere around 1980s with its ugly walls and broken pieces of furniture.
As they were taking apart a wall in the kitchen to make the room wider, a small metallic box literally dropped off of the wall's surface. They assumed it must have been an old construction debris which somehow ended up trapped in one of the partitions of the wall. But when they tried to open the box, they realized that something extremely valuable was hidden inside of it.
The uncle just stared at him with pure shock on his face and the man had his mind totally blown by the unexpected discovery. The thing appeared to be quite old, it had the signs that could mean it is the age of around twenty years since it was made.
In the next few minutes, they paused the reconstruction process and sat right on the floor where they went ahead to really examine the item. The moment can be hardly described in any other way except as extremely exciting, as if they were characters in some sort of Netflix film about to find a generational fortune left for anyone in the future to find.
They are still confused with how this could happen and who hid such a precious item in the wall. Although people do occasionally leave a certain amount of their belongings when moving to another place, a few books and a set of car keys, but mobody usually leaves anything valuable like gold rings that costs more than a car.
This case only proves that there is always a certain mysteriousness surrounding such old buildings because there is no telling whether the owner of this precious item ever managed to tell the story of their lives or had some troubles that was unresolved until now. Why did they hide it and who are they.
But that item costs over $500K. It's not going to be easy selling it and spending the money, what if there's a police case around it?. The man and his uncle will never know.

During immigration or forced displacement caused by war, people would hide their valuables and possessions in secret places, hoping to recover them when they eventually returned home.
