When the soul calls you

Sometimes...
You feel something stir within you,
Soundless,
But its call is so clear...
As if it's saying to you:
"You've missed out on yourself."

You go about your day as usual,
But the feeling won't leave you... A faint voice deep inside
Invites you to return to a path
You abandoned long ago, a path that resembles you more
Than anything you're chasing now.

And you begin to wonder:
Is what I'm experiencing what I wanted?

Is this weariness the price of my dreams,
Or the price of running away from them?

And is this face I see in the mirror
Me...?
Or a version I created to please everyone but myself?

And when you return to listening—
Not to what's around you,
But to what's within you,
You discover that the soul doesn't betray,
Never errs.
It knows its path,
Knows what it deserves,
And knows where the light that befits it lies.

And when you respond to her call...
You feel reborn,
Not as a different person,
But as a person who finally remembers
Who they are...
What they want...
And where they should have gone
From the beginning.
