You lacked nothing… you just couldn't see yourself clearly.
I used to think I needed more...
More skills,
More opportunities,
More time.
I felt inadequate...
That something was always missing.
Whenever I looked at others,
I felt they were better, faster, stronger.
And whenever I looked at myself...
I saw what I lacked,
And ignored what I did have.
I never asked myself:
"What if I am already enough?"
What if the problem isn't my abilities...
But my perception of myself?
I downplayed my achievements,
And magnified my mistakes.
I saw my progress as slow,
And ignored the fact that I hadn't stopped.
I was harsher on myself...
Than anyone else.
Until I realized the truth that changed everything:
I wasn't lacking anything...
I just didn't value myself.
I didn't see myself as I truly was...
But as I feared I might be.
And when I began to change that perspective...
Everything changed.
I didn't become perfect...
But I became honest with myself.
I started to see my progress... even if it was small,
And I respected my attempts... even if they didn't succeed.
Because the truth is:
Confidence doesn't come when you become the best...
It comes when you stop putting yourself down.
