The End… or Not?!
Compared to most creatures living on our planet, we live quite a long life, though of course we’d like it to be longer, but we take what we have.
But there are creatures, like some species of insects, that live just one day or even a few hours. That’s not even enough time to watch all the episodes of "The Sopranos". If you haven’t seen it, definitely check it out.
And if you imagine that every morning you wake up is a birth and going to sleep is death:
In the morning, we’re full of energy like children, youths, young adults. There is no malice in us.
In the evening, we’re exhausted and grumble like old folks.
In the morning, we believe in justice and purity of thoughts, sipping coffee, idealists.
In the evening, we regret the money spent on coffee, pragmatists.
In the morning, we’re ready to overthrow the government, while in the evening we just want to be left alone.
By evening, the system has broken us down again, ha-ha.
Workdays are hard lives.
Weekends are the lives of the rich who don’t have to work or people living on benefits.
The day we get paid is one of those lives we won in the lottery or succeeded in.
If you exercise and eat healthy all day, you go to bed late.
If you eat fast food and drink alcohol, you pass out earlier than expected ;-)
Though one thing doesn’t add up. Many people have sex when going to bed. And why would old folks do that?!
And if night’s sleep is death, then a trip to the bathroom in the middle of the night is the uprising of the dead, a mini zombie apocalypse.
Insomnia is longevity or near immortality, and sleeping pills are poison.
It’s good that falling asleep doesn’t hurt, otherwise at the end of every small life we’d have to drink this “potion”.
And someday this chain of lives will come to an END.
Or maybe we’ll wake up and start all over again, maybe, but that’s not certain.
P.S.
Set your alarm, wake up early, and may your day be filled with smiles.

And just like that, the day is saved: all the lost sheep are back with the flock, safe and sound ;-))
Don't they say that birth is the first day of the long end of life? People who believe in reincarnation have an easier time ignoring the inevitable end...
Exactly, it’s not the beginning of life but the beginning of dying. And in general, for people who believe in some concept that promises the continuation of the feast in another world or in reincarnation, it should be easier to think about death. Perhaps that is the very foundation of all teachings: helping people cope with the fear of death. All that is left is to choose one of these “insurance companies” and you are as if insured.
