Inside Sporting Career | Fiction

We used to play cricket while we grew up in a local town and the river that floated downstream adjoining another forest that floated to a long horizon I can't cover the distance with my eyes. Yes, cricket was a passion, sometimes, literally it was even more of that if we look at from the core of heart.

It definitely was. Those of us who played the sport loved it very much and it was just like that, it kept the amusements inside the friend circle we used to have and things then turned on. We became busy and the other friends turned away. Life became as a mess and we thought earning a decent living is the primary essential to keep.

Yet what we cherish, we keep the promise and retain the same energy and time into making the living busy and meaninful with whatever talent and skills that we have. It goes on pretty normal as for everyone. At least for 98% of the people.

As we grow up, we used to look at our own life and then we become good at keeping profession. Those of us who are here in thins community, most of us perhaps all played any sport outside of home and in the field nearby in the free time. Therefore we are called as amateur sportsman.

But many of those who wishes to be a sportsman they really become an athlete and goes through a long way in their life making their profile a large one. I have had some friends whose life wasn’t even very easy, that was full of the hardships and the ongoing obstacles nobody even thought of that they could go through.

In Asia, the economic conditions aren’t that much good and the truth is the most of the lion share of the players that they emerge, they come from poor to middle class background and only a small number of people come from higher or sophisticated class. Uncertainty and risks of not being able to fulfil the want and demands and family requirements to provide the money for economic support, they don’t match everyone.

One of my observation as a curious person about real life sport was the fact that after my age was above 26+ years,I focused on to be a good guy and stick to the employment basics and create some of the business mechanisms. I was solvent with some of my works

Few days ago, I saw that a a young man who used to play with us in the town and we arranged some of the tournament and leading run scorer was him. He as a sportsman used to play different sports and even as a major sport like Cricket, he used to participate in the franchise based cricket and won different medals.

Suddenly we saw he enrolled his name in the first class cricket and the sporting journey he made enabled him to be a tough guy to get into the international cricket in the end too. Time flies on so fast and so as his success.

But when I met with him and talked personally we learnt a lot of things just as how time flew on and then he has suffered a lot of sports injuries,one of which affected his physical conditions and he was into bed for 5-6 months of time with no cricketing performance.

In the end, sports is not an easy career to choose. But some of the successful players that we see, they are in fact, the 0.1% of the whole sports playing athletes leaving behind the rest giant numbers. Statistics do speak of the effort and we are even the mostly incognizant part of the whole population in fact .
