If we all lived forever
I simply don't want to vanish into nothing. I enjoy being alive and having experiences. Everything that makes us human including joy, love, pain and boredom. Growing surviving and improving are the goals of life and I will prioritize this goal over all others for the duration of my life. Basically to become very good at doing tasks that I wouldn't be able to accomplish otherwise.
Since life is short I don't think I would ever run out of things to do. Just think of the power and knowledge you would possess if you lived forever. To finally resume living my life after it has been put on hold for so long. I've missed so many years of loving and spending time with my man. Until you are able to do so continue to live. That's also my plan.
There will be amazing new experiences as we colonize the galaxy. Seeing the sun explode would be awesome. Or what if the aliens launch an assault? A terrible thing but wouldn't that give all countries a common enemy and cause us to stop fighting each other? Wouldn't you want to see how it goes?
You will continue to exist even though this planet will eventually end. Being the only one left will no doubt be lonely. Losing loved ones and friends is already devastating knowing we will die too. You would eventually become like a worn out shoe, uninterested in anything and unable to enjoy the company of others if death never ended for you but not for others. That's why it's better if we're all eternals or all mortals. The equality is really what makes the sense of society and belonging.
A final curtain call may even seem lighter than the concept of no end. What gives life purpose is death is what some say but I really disagree. Why should the end make the value of the process? Is the value of your favorite Netflix show in the fact that it has an end? If that was the case, fans wouldn't be crying for season two.
If I live a longer life and work for the majority of it I will simply have to work longer. But the problem is to answer what is work, correctly.
The mental health aspects of being 900 years old will likely create the most challenging obstacles. Death is an inevitable part of life and it simply isn't in the nature of things to try to deny or avoid it, or is it?
If you didn't know the whole work has turned immortal, maybe you'll embrace a long life better.

Phew, I can’t imagine how awful that would be: the very idea of living forever (or even just a few hundred years...) gives me the creeps. Quite apart from the fact that there are already far too many people on the planet: at some point, enough is enough! A body like that gradually stops working, the mind grows weak and eventually gives up. And by then at the latest, you’re fed up with life...
I only wonder what it's like to be fed up with life. Because I know in my heart that if someone pulled a gun on me now I would beg for my life and after 50 years I still would beg for my life. Perhaps there might come a time where I think this way, to not want to live any more

An interesting comparison. I wouldn’t beg anyone for the right to live. There’s a quote: “Better to die standing than to live on one’s knees!” by Emiliano Zapata. That sums me up pretty much perfectly... Otherwise, I really do enjoy life ;-)) But I know when enough is enough.
Oh yes, I believe at some point enough will be enough, I'm actually about to post something very related to this particular point, enough being enough. Not the whole thing but a part of it. I did fantasize a lot about immortality when I was younger but after learning exactly what would happen, I'm having a different mind to it

As a young person, one automatically associates eternal life with eternal youth. Over time, one quickly realises this is a mistake, and common sense then tells most people that the way nature works is just fine. Coming and going, constant renewal.
Interesting observation of life, living forever. You see it as oneself leaving, exploring life at one's pace. I see the obvious villains of life living to their glory. People wouldn't give so much birth, a selfishness of keeping all to themselves. As I go on, I think of leaving something behind, be it my offspring or some mark on people. I see middle or lower class people being a bit more inclined towards this but the billionaire class, the grip of religion is also being removed which eventually makes people more human, though that in itself is barbaric. The beauty of this planet, everything is moving, even the very galaxy moving towards its very end, and so we too.
So the end makes it beautiful. That's good perspective
